A free SHSAT support program by Bronx Science

Designed to create equitable opportunities in the specialized high school system.

Our Mission

We work to provide free SHSAT tutoring solutions to middle school students throughout the Bronx. Our ultimate goal is to fulfill the potential of the borough’s next generation, and further develop their skills needed to attend and excel in specialized high schools such as Bronx Science.

Our Work

Since 2019, Bronx Science students of all ages have partaken in weekly tutoring sessions at the New School for Leadership and the Arts (NSLA), a nearby middle school in Kingsbridge. Our tutors have not only fostered meaningful relationships with 100+ NSLA students and staff, but have successfully helped 25+ students get into the Specialized High Schools. In 2024, more than 75 tutors have volunteered with Science for Bronx.
